Annual Asbestos Notification

The presence of asbestos in a building, undisturbed, does not present a health hazard. Do not disturb any asbestos-containing construction material (ACCM) in your workplace. Only persons authorized and properly trained are allowed to perform work that disturbs ACCM.

As required by state law, all employees and contractors who work in campus buildings are notified annually as to where asbestos is present. For complete details, see the 2023 Annual Asbestos Building ReportPDF File online on the EHS website.

Welcome Back! Fall 2023 Service Reminders

Welcome back to Cal State Fullerton for the Fall 2023 semester! As we enter a new academic year, we want to share some key service reminders with you:

Service Center
Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm
Phone: (657) 278-3494 or ext. 3494 on Zoom Phone
Email: ServiceCenter@fullerton.edu
The service center is your hub for campus maintenance requests, including plumbing, HVAC, spill cleanups, e-waste pickups, and more. Start by reaching out to your department coordinator to identify if you have a designated facilities coordinator for your area.

Classroom Access
Custodial services unlock classrooms daily. However, if you find your classroom is locked, please get in touch with the Service Center for prompt assistance in unlocking general-use classrooms.

Optimal Classroom Occupancy
During the first two weeks of the semester, we align classroom seating with the fire marshal’s maximum occupancy guidelines. If your class enrollment exceeds the occupancy limit, please refrain from relocating chairs or desks from other classrooms, and instead call the Scheduling Office to make further arrangements for your class. For accessibility inquiries, contact Disability Support Services at (657) 278-3112.

Redecorating and Furniture Moves
For the safety, accessibility, and well-being of our campus community, only CPFM employees are authorized to hang items, drill into walls, or move furniture and equipment. For larger renovations, begin planning and budgeting for Summer 2024 by contacting our Service Center to start the process.

Planning of Special Events
Hosting an event this semester? We are here to help! Please connect with our Service Center in the early stages of planning, at least three weeks prior to the event date, for assistance with auxiliary power, waste management, custodial services, landscaping, and more.

Stay Informed
Exciting projects are always underway at CSUF! Check your email inbox for campus facilities updates, and visit https://facilities.fullerton.edu for project updates and useful resources.

CPFM Official Statement on Harvesting Orange Trees at CSUF

Issued: March 1, 2023

There are three locations on campus where orange trees grow, in front of Langsdorf Hall, behind SGMH, and along the Promenade. Fruit provided by the orange trees on campus is available for students to pick for personal use, provided care is taken to avoid personal injury or cause damage to the trees (no climbing of trees, no removal or breaking of branches, and picking only ripe fruit). It is important to note that the Arboretum is a separate entity with its own policies for its trees and plants.

A collaborative effort is currently in the works between CPFM and the Environmental Justice Club to harvest fruit for the benefit of the campus Pantry. It is our hope that moving forward, CSUF student organizations will work together to coordinate future harvesting and distribution of the fruit to the campus Pantry. This will not only help provide produce to help fight food insecurity among the student population but aids in reducing fruit from going to waste on the ground.
